As we move towards winter, the days get ever shorter and the shadows longer and the sun sits lower in the sky, and I can understand where the tradition of ‘Hygge’ here in Denmark came from, and why the people of the past and the present felt the need to gather together inside, light fires, tell stories and otherwise look to comfort themselves.
