What is your style?

Something of a self portrait. At the moment I am almost exclusively working digitally rather than in a regular sketch book while trying to define what my “style” of illustration is? I would be interested to hear how others have arrived at their own “illustration style”? It seems that it’s a matter of simplification and only working in particular mediums as well as ignoring other avenues, whereas I find I like to express myself in various styles and mediums, even if my subject matter and voice is quite consistent. What is your viewpoint?

  1. That’s excellent, Mark! I’m not an artist, but I do like your style very much. It seems you’re really getting to grips with digital art & enjoying it..well done you!

    • Thank you Debbie, i just feel I’m not quite there yet…but getting closer :))

      • I’m sure you will, Mark. Using a new medium is like starting again, in some ways, I guess. My husband likes sketching, when the fancy takes, & I’ve seen how techniques can differ, between pencils, charcoal & oil pastels for example. Good luck with your finding your style. 😊

  2. I am told I have a style. I don’t see it myself. Ask your other art friends what they think. I love your work.

  3. Hope your doing well. I have been painting in oil on canvas for several years now. I am showing in better galleries and shops then a year or two ago.
