Modern Songs as Retro Vinyl

I love these reworked vinyl singles by Robert Penney who has taken records by The Libertines and Lady Gaga and reworked the sleeves as they might have looked had they been released in the sixties. With most music now bought on line the visual and tactile pleasure of hand-designed record sleeves is becoming a thing of the past.tumblr_mlpmze1GfL1qzd0p8o3_500 tumblr_mlpmze1GfL1qzd0p8o2_500 e55074619394a28df8af43faaf447ff4313b39

  1. This is incredible … and good fun as well. Bravo!

Vinyl has a future … it requires the listener to be active, delights in the selection of the artists (allowing a computer to decide what you listen to ruins the work of team who made it) … Its not convenient but a little hunger makes things taste better

    • Absolutely, even when I make my own CD compilations they are always limited to 12 or 24 (double album!!) tracks. I think there is something to be said for curating and reducing what we see and listen too, being as there is just toooo much information, visual and audial available.
